The Blood Bank at Red Cross Society Kundapura was established in 2015 with a simple mission: to make safe, life-saving blood accessible to everyone in need. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most trusted and well-equipped blood banks in Udupi District, known for its dedication and community-driven approach.
Every year, we organize over 80 blood donation camps across the Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts. These camps help us collect an average of 5,000+ units of blood, ensuring that hospitals and patients have a reliable supply when it matters most.
What makes our Blood Centre stand out:
- We provide blood components at 50% concession to patients admitted to government hospitals. It’s our way of ensuring that financial constraints don’t stand in the way of life-saving treatment.
- We are proud to offer platelet support for dengue patients with critical needs during outbreaks.
- Our facility is supported by a Mobile Blood Collection Van, donated by the National Headquarters, enabling us to reach even the most remote areas.
- Despite being an independent center (we don’t receive funding from NACO or the Government), our Blood Bank is fully equipped, thanks to generous contributions from the Rotary Club, local temples, and community members.
